THIRD PARTY AUDITED SYSTEMS
Prior to the recent implementation of EN1279, the recognised method of proving to the end customer that Hermetically Sealed IG Units were manufactured under a Third Party Audited System, was to run a BSI Kitemark System to BS5713 and use an ISO 9000 or similar system to control the complete process.
EN1279 has now replaced the BS5713 Standard and is referred to as BS EN1279 - 2.
When EN1279 became mandatory, it was not essential to have a third party audited system to conform to the standard, although some manufacturers may still see a commercial advantage in running such a system, hence the development of our CMS Mark.
There are three options, at present, available in the UK.
